I myself experience my 10’th winter on Ada Bojana and I am always surprised how different it is. First of all we’ve celebrated X-Mas here, but totally unusual. It’s been a cold night so we made the firewood oven working. On the side we cooked an local raised grill chicken with rosemary. Food cooked in fire made heat taste somehow better. The burning wood, especially of mulberry gives it an special atmosphere. The smoke can be smelled 100 meters away from the house. It is a smell I did not know until this X-Mas time. Except for X-Mas we had a couple of cold days with grilled chicken over new year. The orthodox X-Mas beginning of January meant for us that literally for 2 weeks no shops were open. In Winter everything seems to slow totally down. For 2 weeks we have enjoyed the peace and beauty of wild winter Ada.
